About Ms. Kalmar  |
My name is Amy Kalmar, and I'm returning for my second year at wonderful Mount St. Mary High School! I love being a part of the Rocket family, and I have a deep passion for teaching English and sponsoring the literary magazine. I am full of new ideas for this year, and extremely excited!
I grew up in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and spent four years at the University of Notre Dame, receiving a B.A. in English, Medieval Studies, and Italian. I am currently working toward my Master of Education at Notre Dame. You can probably guess that as an English teacher reading and writing have a special place in my life, but I also love college football, ice hockey, cooking and baking (especially Thai food), learning languages, the martial arts (especially Tae Kwon Do, which I have taught for over seven years), and interesting conversations about almost anything. Go Irish! Go Rockets!
